A little Idea for 2015

So it's nearly that time of year again when we fill up on the mince pies and stuff ourselves silly with food and come the 31st December we make some promises that sometimes we can't keep. So forget making New Years Resolutions for this year and take a look at this idea. Dear 2015  Dear 2015 is a healthy and positive way to create promises in an easy and practical way. Rather than keeping up with the New Years Resolution throughout January and then giving up by Valentines day or before, Dear 2015 is a list of goals that can be altered and changed to suit you.  How does it work? Grab a piece of paper and a pen and write down all the new years resolutions you want to make and then underneath them write a simple description of when you want to achieve the resolution.  Now grab another little piece of paper and write the resolution on the top and map out little and easy goals or targets you want to create to make sure you stay on track. If these become to difficult...

#Handbook - When is it the right time to talk about Aspergers?

When dating when is it the right time to tell the person you really like that you have Aspergers? It's a burning question that I have thought about over and over in my head for a very long time as the last time I was in a relationship I had just found out I had Aspergers and didn't really know what it meant when it came to a relationship with another person. One of the things that I thought about at the time was the fact it felt like another person was in the relationship rather than a part of my personality or me as a whole person. At the time I was 16, young and not really in charge of my own thoughts and feeling when it came to my own identity. At the age of 22 I can see more clearly and identify more with my Aspergers and myself and know who I am as a character but when you add someone else into the mix what happens? You're going to feel awkward as it is, especially if it's a date but how do you broach the subject? I would say when it's right in your m...

Self Image and Confidence Issues

The title suggests a lot of questions that are all about LOOKS and WEIGHT as well as other social stigmas that have seemed to become highlighted on a daily basis in the world obsessed with how it looks.  But as someone with Aspergers, the pressure to look good is I have found not to please others but at the moment to please myself. As a teenager, I was always self critiquing my figure, looks and weight comparing myself to other girls in my year group and the celebrities and pop stars, movie starlets  and well everyone else on the bloody planet. I never thought I was good enough and looking back I mainly think that was to do with my depression which is something us Aspie girls cannot hide from but unfortunately the self critiquing would not go away. As a girl you always want to look your best! That can mean different things to different people but back when I was younger I dressed the way I wanted and hoped to god to be accepted which at that point in time I shouldn't had b...

# Handbook - Online Romances not everybody is telling the truth

Meeting someone Online can be fun and exciting and well a relationship can blossom from nothing into something more than friendship but beware not everyone presents themselves in a honest and truthful way. We've all seen Catfish the film and the hit MTV reality show where Nev and Max travel all around America helping people who are in online committed relationships only to have their hearts either fill with joy or break when they realise they've been played like a fool.  Now I'm not saying that having a relationship online will not lead to love at some point but I would recommend that you use a verified online dating site where you will have to pay a fee to subscribe and get all the features on offer to you. I have used them in the past and didn't really like the way some men came onto me but if you find someone you automatically get on with then I would suggest that messaging is your best way to get to know each other through the site! ...

What is Love?

It is a question on everyone's lips! Whether Aspergers or not! I have had relationships that have lasted for a few weeks to a couple of years before my diagnosis and at the time I was still young and didn't know who I was as a person. If you asked me that question now I still won't be able to answer you fully but I know a little bit more about myself than I did before. But add in the rest of me and there seems to be something that keeps holding me back and no matter how many episodes of Friends or Sex and the City I watch I still don't seem to understand how I would cope in an adult relationship? The teenage years are all about finding out who you are: What Group are you in?  What music you like?  What fashion trend you are?  And all theses things are then calculated into your social standing and that does kinda follow you through in life when you get older but  first no one is that childish anymore and after a while you don't care because everyone move...

When the plan doesn't come together

I was planning to do a video today and put it on youtube... But lovely men turned up right outside my house after I set everything up and began to make a terrible racket which would compromise compromise the sound quality and I didn't think that was fair on you and it would be a horror to edit! So I'll try again this tomorrow and hope no one disturbs me then as it's annoying me right now! Sorry guys! I feel really bad ! Sophie xxx

Horoscopes and the Pre-op

Today is the day when i've dressed up to go to hospital. As a girl we always need something to cheer us and if that means putting a nice jumper on and maybe swapping my bag for another one and even wearing a pair of boots then thats fine. Now the title mentions something that many people don't believe in Horoscopes and in my desperation and feeling pity for ones self for reasons that I don't really want to blog about I typed into the internet horoscopes and found my star sign and then read the stuff and one sight was fairly to the point of what was in fact happening in my life. But as always you don't just look at the day do you? No I got so sucked in by the actual thing that I clicked on the week and a surprise came up that really hadn't shocked me. One of the problems that every girl faces is relationships and the pressure to find a boyfriend before they reach 25 years old. And that isn't counting all the failed relationships I had when I was a teenage...
