When Life Gives You Lemons...

Image
The old saying when Life gives you Lemons... You make Lemonade is something that sometimes annoys the hell out of me but it's a great way of dealing with negativity and change.  I know there is method to my madness, this saying comes out of the woodwork when something goes wrong in your life and the person who says it to you hopes to themselves that you take the positive out of it rather than wanting to scream at them in a mid meltdown.  The whole reason I titled this blog with this saying is because this is happening to me right now in my personal life where I thought i'd figured out my career and then suddenly I'm hit with a sequence of events that make me think do I really want to pursue this adding in all the variables and factors?  Therefore I've been given the hypothetical Lemons and at the moment trying to make Lemonade from them, how I don't know at the moment but all the skills I have learnt from my life so far might help in making changes.  ...

Being Comfortable in your own skin isn't all about what you look like on the outside. It's about excepting every aspect of yourself from the inside out, and this includes loving the unique little quirks that make us who we are.  I've struggled with this my whole life and especially when I found out about being autistic when I was just dealing with being a teenager let alone autistic.  As i've matured and become to understand myself more as an Aspergers gal and embracing my little quirks and characteristics that make me who I am, has made me more happy to go out into the big bad world and start living.  I'm comfortable with the fact that I'm a major geek (kind of like this guy on the right but not as anti-social or completely off the scale Autistic), I love Comic Books, Star Wars, Harry Potter and the list goes on and on as I'm that geeky.  "I love the fact that I have a way to escape the world that we live in and submerse myself into...

Self Doubt is something that we all have to face whether Autistic or not. All those negative voices that circle in your head telling you the same old lies over and over again can be hard to ignore, but knowing that you have come so far from where ever you started can be the light in a sea of darkness.  This is something that I live with due to having severe Depression and Chronic Anxiety, I've come so far in the last decade of my life from being in a mental health unit for a whole year after having the worst experience of my life at school.  I've touched on my experiences at school in previous blog posts where I described what happened to me and how it had made me a stronger person later on in my life but I still hear those negative comments they creep into my mind and stay there taunting me over and over, willing me to giv...
